Privacy Policy
This policy explains how AppealSource handles information when you browse, check a case, purchase a report, or use a result.
Information we receive
We receive the eligibility answers, enforcement notice, context and optional deadline that you choose to submit, plus a case identifier, hashed access token, case status and generated report. We may also receive support messages and limited technical logs needed to secure and operate the site.
How information is used
We use this information to assess eligibility, create the requested source-backed analysis and draft, provide case access, process support requests, prevent abuse, maintain security and meet accounting or legal obligations. We do not sell case information or use it for advertising.
Information you must not provide
Do not submit passwords, platform credentials, API keys, payment or bank details, government identifiers, identity documents, buyer personal information, or other unrelated sensitive data. AppealSource does not access your platform account or submit appeals for you.
Service providers and measurement
Lemon Squeezy provides hosted checkout and merchant-of-record payment services; AppealSource receives order and payment-status metadata, not full card details. A third-party AI model provider processes permitted, redacted case text to help ARGUS prepare the analysis and editable draft. Google Analytics is loaded only after you affirmatively accept optional analytics in the notice or later through Analytics settings in the site footer; we do not send notice text, emails, account credentials, case identifiers, payment-provider IDs, or report content to Google Analytics. After consent, allowlisted campaign parameters may be kept for the current browser tab so a later purchase can be attributed. Rejecting or withdrawing optional analytics clears that attribution and stops Google Analytics and individual page history. Anonymous page counts are separate and can be turned off below. Hosting and database providers process the information needed to run the service. These providers may process information internationally under their applicable terms.
Anonymous page counts
When enabled, our own service counts public page views by day, page and approximate country to improve the website. It also estimates how many browsers visited each day. This browser keeps only the UTC date when it was last counted; it sends a yes/no signal on the first counted view of a new day. The screen width is sent so the server can count mobile and desktop traffic; the exact width is not stored. The server stores daily totals, not a visitor identifier, browser fingerprint, order identifier, full IP address or browsing history. A refresh still counts as a page view, but should not add another browser on the same day. The browser estimate does not identify unique people, link page views to purchases, or reliably deduplicate different browsers, devices or cleared storage. We do not send these counts to advertising services. Countries can be unavailable. These counts run even if you reject optional Google Analytics. Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control stops them in this browser. You can also turn them off here; a local preference remembers your choice.
Purchase and service records
We record the steps needed to provide your requested service, including case creation, checkout, payment confirmation and report delivery, even when optional analytics is off. Where our hosting provider supplies reliable approximate country information, we can record the connection country with the case. If you accept optional analytics in the notice or footer settings, we also keep up to 30 public page visits from this tab during the preceding 24 hours and attach them to the case you submit. We do not collect private report paths, URL query values or form contents as browsing history. Existing Google Analytics permission alone does not enable this additional history. This history is retained for at most 30 days; you can withdraw permission through Analytics settings in the footer and request deletion of saved history through support.
Retention and deletion
Anonymous page totals are retained for up to 90 days. We retain case content, reports and related records only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, handle support, reconcile payments and satisfy legal or accounting duties. To request access, correction or deletion, email support@appealsource.com. Some records may need to be retained where a legal or transaction obligation applies.
Your choices and rights
You may request information about the data associated with your case and ask us to correct or delete it, subject to applicable law and necessary retention. We will use the contact information in your request only to verify and respond.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. The current version is posted on this page. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@appealsource.com.
