How we research platform policies and review a seller notice
AppealSource is independent software, not a platform representative. This page explains how we choose sources, keep UK and US guidance separate, and distinguish verified facts from an AI-generated draft.
1. We define the platform, market and issue first
A TikTok Shop UK notice is not interpreted using TikTok Shop US or Amazon Seller rules. Our public guides identify the seller, creator, account or listing context they cover. In the paid flow, an initial scope check decides whether the written notice and available appeal route fit a currently supported service before checkout.
A live platform notice controls the specific reason, route, deadline and requested documents. A guide cannot create an appeal right or extend a deadline that the notice does not offer.
2. We select and date official sources
We prefer policy and process pages published by the relevant platform for the relevant market. For each guide, we link the official material used and show when the guide was last reviewed. A publication date and an editorial review date are different: neither means the platform has promised the rule will remain unchanged.
When sources describe different issue types, roles or appeal windows, we keep those limits beside the claim. Where official material is incomplete or internally inconsistent, we say so and defer to the active notice instead of inventing a universal rule. The TikTok Shop UK evidence and deadline matrix shows this issue-by-issue approach.
3. We separate evidence from assumptions
The seller supplies a redacted notice and non-sensitive context. The review asks what the notice appears to allege, what evidence the seller can actually verify, and what remains unknown. A document mentioned in a checklist is not treated as available, valid or sufficient until the seller checks it.
Examples in our guides are synthetic illustrations, not real customer cases or text to copy into an appeal. We do not invent causes, dates, completed corrections, authorisations, invoices or outcomes.
4. ARGUS prepares the case report
ARGUS brings together the scope check, relevant official sources, evidence review and factual controls to prepare an AI-assisted analysis and editable draft from the redacted notice. The result can be incomplete or wrong. We do not claim that every report receives a human expert review.
Do not paste passwords, access codes, identity documents, banking information, buyer data, email addresses or case IDs into AppealSource. Our Privacy Policy explains the service providers and data handling in more detail.
5. The seller makes the final check and submission
The report is a decision aid, not legal advice or an appeal submitted on your behalf. Before using a draft, compare every factual statement, source, document, deadline and suggested action with the live platform notice and your own records. The platform alone decides the outcome; no reinstatement or approval is guaranteed.
If a guide contains a broken source, outdated process or factual error, please contact support@appealsource.com with the public page URL. We review corrections against the relevant official source and update the stated review date only when a review has actually occurred.
